Welcome to The Texas Association of Hispanic Dance and Culture Homepage

The Texas Association for Hispanic Dance and Culture (TAHDC) was founded in July 2003 in answer to the educational and cultural needs of the Texas Hispanic community.

The specific purposes of this 501 c 3 corporation shall be to create a bridge between audiences, educators, artists, dancers, musicians, media, and other non-profit organizations for the preservation, dissemination and evolvement of Hispanic dance and culture in Texas.

TAHDC Accomplishments

TWU Latino Dance and Music Festival Initiated a new prototype folklórico event to connect folklórico dancers to college July 2008

TAHDC Folklórico Festival of Texas Presented the largest folklórico competition in the US 1991-2006

TAHDC Texas Salsa Championships designed to encourage the development of High School Salsa Clubs 2005-present

TAHDC Staff Development to assist public school teachers with cultural education National Dance Association. Texas Dance Educators Association Texas Association for Health Physical Education, Recreation & Dance ISD staff training in Dallas and across the state 1999 to present

TAHDC Networking Breakfasts for area Hispanic arts and cultural groups annual event 2006 to present

TAHDC Online Directories 1999 to present of groups, merchants, and college programs

TAHDC College Folklórico Directory to promote knowledge & participation in curricular and extra-curricular programs.

Latin Fusion for High School Dance & Drill Teams produced our first Instruction DVD to assist public school teachers to present cultural instruction.
